Notes from the book Food and Mood

LOW SERATONIN:  insomnia, depression, food cravings, sensitivity to pain, aggressive behavior, poor body-temp regulation.

Eating PROTEIN makes blood amino acids rise, which leads to low tryptophan in the brain, which leads to low seratonin.

Eating CARBOHYDRATES leads to higher seratonin.

ZINC DEFICIENCY:  loss of appetite and taste, delayed sexual maturity, fatigue, mood disturbance, skin changes, hair loss.
